The Latest News About Reopening Mcgills Hairdressing Salon in Edinburgh
We are hoping July will be the month we can reopen the doors to our Edinburgh salon. The exact date is still a guessing game, but please rest assured that we will update you further when we know more ourselves. Please keep up to date by checking the website or by following us on FACEBOOK or INSTAGRAM.
It is likely that hair salons will be given strict Government rules on how we can reopen safely and we will of course be following them. Once we know when we can open and we have these guidelines, we will be sharing the ‘new normal’ with you and what a visit to Mcgills will be like in the future.
In the meantime we have some information on how we are planning to get you booked back in, virtual and emailed consultations prior to your services, our new treatment board for extra ‘me time’ and deposits.
Our Clients Visit us From...………..
Managing Your Appointments
We will be opening our appointment books 2-3 weeks prior to our exact opening date.
We will then be contacting YOU from our priority lists in order of below:
Priority list 1 – For our clients who have appointments booked during lockdown, that’s been cancelled. You are our priority and will be seen first.
Priority list 2 – For regular clients of ours that didn’t have a appointment in the diary but are going to be in need of one when we re-open. You will be seen once we have contacted all of list 1.
Priority list 3 – This is for new clients who want to try us out. We can’t wait to meet you (albeit it may take longer than usual!).
Clients will be prioritised and seen in this order.
Once we have contacted everyone on those lists, we will then go back to taking appointments via phone, email us firstname.lastname@example.org, DM’s and of course reopen our online booking.
We ask for your patience as we have a lot of clients to contact, but we will contact you in order of the lists.
If you haven’t yet added your name to one of the lists and would like to be added, please email us email@example.com.
Virtual and Emailed Consultations
We understand that some of you may fancy a complete hair transformation, others will be seeing their natural colour for the first time in years and others who are happy to stick to their usual top up services. This is why we will be emailing all of our colour clients with a consultation form to fill out prior to your appointment, which will allow us to allocate the correct amount of time needed for your chosen services. We will then be able to decide who may need a virtual consultation, for example if you desire a complete change.
These forms will also be sent out in order of priority (Priority Lists 1-2-3).
New Treatment Board
The salon is likely to be very different on your return. Imagine our salon with fewer clients, high levels of social distancing and an end to end service with your chosen stylist only.
Although things will be different, its important to us that your time spent here is the McGills experience that you are used to but with a slightly ‘new’ feel. We want to make sure that you get the ‘me time’ you’ve been craving – with added extras.
When we contact you to book you in, you will have the option to add one of the following treatments to your service;
- Repair treatment – OLAPLEX is a hair repair treatment which makes your hair stronger and healthier. Hey, you might even want to go a little lighter on your next visit to McGills. OLAPLEX allows us to do this without compromising the condition of your hair. – £20
- Colour treatment -The Davines Minu Hair Mask is the ideal mask for coloured hair. The Minu formula is designed to deeply nourish coloured hair, make it soft and silky, extending the duration of professional hair colour, without weighing the hair down. Your coloured hair will feel replenished, and results in luminous new looking hair. –£10
- Protein and shine treatment – Choose from the Davines OI Hair Butter or the Davines Nou Nou Hair Mask. Davines OI Hair Butter is our favourite hair moisturiser and is suitable for all hair types! This luxurious hair butter adds tons of shine, will meet all your hydration needs and even has an anti frizz effect. The Davines Nou Nou Hair Mask is ideal for blondes and those who have damaged their hair with heated styling tools. The mask is designed to deeply nourish your treated hair, leaving it soft and silky without weighing it down. –£10
Life as we knew it, has changed for everyone in these unprecedented times and this has meant that the team at Mcgills Hairdressing in Edinburgh have had to adjust to the new normal too.
We are expecting to be very busy upon our return and, as such, do not wish to have empty spaces when we have a large waiting list. This will mean once we reopen, we will require a 50% deposit for all DUAL appointments as these can be more difficult to fill in the event of a cancellation (anyone who has already purchased a gift voucher will not need to pay a deposit).
For our regular clients, this will be new to you and we do hope that you understand and appreciate our decision moving forward. Some of our regular clients who always rebook, may wish to add 50% of your usual service price to your account and keep it held on account, rather than doing this every time.
Please Note : All deposits will be refundable if 24 hours notice is provided. However, we do understand things change quickly during this period and so, if you do need to cancel within that time period, you will not lose your deposit as we will hold it on account until your next visit.
