Wondering if you’re ready to go grey? You don’t have to, but if you decide you’re ready, there is a rule of thumb. When your hair is 40% grey then you can stop coloring.
If you’ve previously colored your hair, there are two ways to transition to your new grey look:
– If you’re willing to have a short haircut, then cut out all the old color.
– Or, have your stylist weave in a few lowlights as you grow out the old shade.
The last approach is a subtle way to de-emphasize roots as the grey comes in, and the single color process goes out.
