McGills Hairdressing April Newsletter

Can you help us??

We’ve got to ask. (We can’t afford the fine!)

As some of you may know, (or read in our March newsletter) the law that defines the ways business can contact their customers is changing. Basically, companies can no longer contact you by phone, email, text, letter, carrier pigeon, smoke signals etc, without your express permission. Personally, we think it’s win-win – you get to decide who can and can’t contact you and we, as a business, know where we stand and make sure our info is going to people who are genuinely interested!

So with this in mind, please click here to choose your preferences (it takes 2 minutes).

Thanks in advance,

The McGill’s Team.

We like to think you like our little salon and hope you enjoy your visit each time so….

Recommend us!!

Are you suffering from a sensitive, dry, flaky or even thinning hair?? If so, we want to hear from you.

Our Maya, (the real brainy one) has qualified in scalp conditions and wants to further her career in this field. This is also something that is very important to us as a brand. You cant have healthy hair without a healthy scalp, right?

We are looking for models to trial our Davine’s scalp products to make sure they do what they say on the tin. This would be a 12 week course where you will need to visit us once a week for in salon treatments. This will allow us to see whats happening and whether the treatments your receiving are working. You will also get free home care products to maintain the work thats being done in salon.

If this sounds of interest to you or you would like to know more, please contact us on 0131 228 8882 or email us at mcgillshairdressing@gmail.com. Maya will then be in touch to arrange a consultation.

McGills Jargon-Buster!

Do you get confused when your hairdresser starts talking the talk? What’s a balayage? Is there a difference between texture and layers? And how on earth do you pronounce Davines!? It’s important that you and your stylist are on the same wavelength to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for. Here’s the low down on a few technical terms so the next time you’re in the salon you know what the heck we’re talking about!

Layering: Creates different lengths throughout your hair, whether its long or short. Layers help create different styles.

Movement: Is a term we use when asking about how you style your hair. Do you like it super sleek? Or do you like to see waves, curls, and hair falling in different directions etc? These styles help give hair ‘Movement’.

Texture: Takes away any solid lines within your hair, making it feel less heavy.

Any other terms bamboozling your brain? Let us know and we’ll include it in the next edition of the McGills Jargon-Buster.

P.S. Davines is pronounced DAH-VIN-ESS (it’s Italian)
