We Are SHABA Finalists!

We are super excited to have reached this year’s finals of the ‘Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards’ – or SHABA Awards

The categories we entered into are:

  • Best Salon Design
  • Best Colourist (Maya)
  • Best Apprentice (Ellie)

This would have not been possible without your votes, and we can’t thank you enough. To get to the finals with your support means the world to us – thank you!

Roll on 16th September, when we head to Glasgow for the SHABA awards ceremony. #fingersandtoescrossed.

Points vs 10% OFF

As most of you already know, in February we introduced our ‘points’ scheme, which took over from our previous 10% off. I’d like to share the difference beween these two offers with you.

Prior to February, you received 10% off for rebooking within 6 weeks of your visit to McGills Hairdressing, and it worked great. You’re probably all thinking; ‘well why change it?’

The reason is simple…. we wanted to give you more and do better.

For every £1 you spend at McGills, you will earn 1 point, which contributes 5p towards your next visit.  You will receive this regardless of whether or not you rebook. However, if you do rebook, the number of points you earn is doubled, meaning that you effectively receive 10p back on every £1 you spend at McGills. This is similar to receiving 10% off, but there is a slight difference.

Points can be saved over time, and used towards any service. You might even earn enough points that your next visit is free. Points can be used to pay for any services or retail products at McGills.

Getting things right for you is always our main aim. Let us know whether your a fan of the McGills points, or if you preferred the 10% off. You say….. We listen.

Do You Suffer from Scalp Issues?

If so, we want to hear from you.

Having a healthy scalp is crucial for healthy, strong hair, as the quality of hair will only be as good as the conditions it grows in. This is so often overlooked, which is why creating a scalp clinic in a friendly, non-surgical atmosphere is where we’re heading.

We are looking for people who may suffer from any of the following problems to help us trial some products and make sure they do what they say on the tin. Using a holistic approach, we will be looking into using the correct products whilst considering diet, exercise and lifestyle during an in-depth consultation with our scalp guru, Maya. Your scalp will be analysed and recorded throughout the program.

The following scalp issues we are looking to test are:

  • Oily or dry dandruff on the scalp
  • Overly oily scalp
  • Dull, white, non rosy scalp
  • Diffused hair loss, whether that be from stress, seasonal patterns or hormonal factors
  • Dehydrated or poorly nourished scalp, with damaged and brittle hair
  • Fine hair that is dry and lacking in elasticity, which refers to how much the hair will stretch and return to a normal state. If yours doesn’t return to a normal state, its lacking elasticity.

If you have any of the above issues and want to find out more, please email us at mcgillshairdressing@gmail.com, or alternatively call us on 0131 228 8882 where we can book an in depth consultation.
