Salon Reviews – Edinburgh

Hi to all the team at Mcgills, I would just like to post a wee review of my recent appointment on 16th September. As always the service, attention, expertise, and of course the "banter" were all excellent. My Stylist was Rachel, and my haircut was brilliant, with great attention to detail. Everyone in the salon is so friendly and welcoming, and proficient. Look forward to my next visit, in the meantime, onwards and upwards, you are all brilliant, Kind regards, Ross.

Get a blow drys done here from time to time by Taylor, she always does a excellent job and and a great head massage.Very nice saloon, lovely staff.

Rachel did a fantastic job with my cut and color. It’s everything I wanted and more!

Had a wonderful experience with Ems. She really took the time to listen and clarify what I wanted, especially as it was my first visit to this salon. I got exactly the cut we discussed with tips on how to style and maintain it. Will most definitely be back!

My experiences at mcgills hairdressing have always been so welcoming and wonderful. Hollie is an amazing hardworking hairdresser who is incredibly precise and always pays such close attention to detail. She also does an absolutely killer bouncy blowout!

The whole team is so lovely and welcoming, and i always leave feeling amazing. i couldn’t recommend Hollie and the team at mcgills enough!!

Fantastic service from Garry and apprentice Emma. They took the time to establish my likes/dislikes and dealt with my awkwardness professionally and with such friendliness. I have finally found a hairdresser in Edinburgh I can cope with. Thank you so much, my hair thanks you too 🙂

Rachel was an amazing stylist she completely transformed my hair. I went from being so unhappy with my hair due to hair loss in recent years and a colour job I was unhappy with, to feeling totally myself again . I’m now feeling like this is what my hair should always look like when I get it done, and just absolutely in love with it. I think what made a huge difference was not only Rachel’s amazing skills but the consultation we had with heather before the session totally made the whole vision come to life and was definitely worth the time spent talking through what I wanted. Which is something I’ve never had before.
Will definitely be returning to McGills again!

I saw Sarah (Trichologist) as I had some issues with dandruff and redness on the scalp. Sarah was very knowledgeable and advised a treatment plan which made a difference straight away, I would highly recommend Sarah.

I went in to tidy / freshen a slightly uneven DIY haircut and Tamara was great -- she really listened to what I wanted, she shaped it up really nicely while keeping the length which was exactly what I wanted, and she gave me recommendations on how to style it with tools / products. Would go again if I lived in Edinburgh 🙂

Came to mcgills after a complete disaster job at another salon. Hollie is an absolute saving grace and did an amazing repair. I felt so well looked after the whole time and she continued to explain treatments and the different parts of the process as we went along, making me feel cared for as well understanding what she was doing. Both the entire experience and the end result were totally 5 stars. Thank you so much Hollie

McGills are a brilliant salon. All the girls are fantastic and it’s a genuinely fabulous experience from start to finish. Emma has been working on my hair for the last year. She’s incredibly talented and I’ve never been so happy with my colour. Thanks to all the team!

I got my hair cut today and I was scared to come into a new hairdresser since I have curly hair but Ellie did a phenomenal job. She was very patient and attentive as to what i wanted and made sure that I was happy with the final cut adjusting anything as needed. Due to a change in hairdresser they booked me for a slot 15 minutes later than I was supposed to be, so they gave me a free hair treatment as compensation which I didn’t even expect as 15 minutes is not that long but it was a nice benefit. The service and staff are great. Highly recommend (especially for curly hair)!

Second time at the salon yesterday with Emma. I would definitely recommend her to anyone else with curly hair! She's really thorough in understanding what you're aiming for and how to look after your curls. It's definitely the most welcoming and comfortable hair salon I've been to!

Fantastic Salon! Everyone was so lovely, from the reception to the stylists. Emma was brilliant, knows what she’s doing, works beautifully with curly hair, and extremely thoughtful and kind! Highly recommend this place for hijabis, they’re super considerate and attentive when it comes to this. Definitely a place I’d come back to!
